February 27, 2017

Hey Family, sorry for the late reply but today was a holiday here and we went to an activity that the ward had, and it was amazing! It had a great turn out. It was in a camping type of place. Even though we left in time there wasn't a place with computers open, and so a family, the Sotelo family, is letting me use their computer. I won't be able to send pictures today but the next time.

More than anything I wanted to let you guys know that all is good here. I will take some pictures of the new pension and ward.

We found the boyfriend of a menos (less) active person. Her father just came back from the temple and are faithful members. We are talking a lot with Mauricio, and he is a chosen person. All the things have been going so well with him and they want to get married, and he wants to be baptized. We are so grateful for this opportunity that God has given us.

The miracle of the week is that Mauricio told us that he wasn't going to make it to church but he suprised us and he came to church with his family for the whole time. It made us more than happy because we prayed all the week that God would give him a way to go to church.

I love you all, and I'm doing good. The next week I'll have more time to talk (write).

February 20, 2017

(We wrote to Jacob about a local service project) That’s super awesome that you guys could help. Really the church is more than a church, more than a community, more than a religion, more than a culture. It’s really the kingdom of God, and these small things that we do to worry ourselves for our brothers and sisters here on the Earth is something that is a lot more than a religion. For that reason and many more it’s the kingdom of God because it’s what we should do, how we should act, and really what God wants for us to be in this life.

(We wrote to him about someone in our area, whom we’ve known for a long time, getting baptized) That’s amazing news! Those types of things really strengthen my testimony of how the Lord has his own time!

This week was tiring. We moved houses, and we are now living above a family in the ward. The house is pretty nice and we are getting all new things because we didn’t have anything to take from the other pension. This week has been the move more than anything but we did see some miracles.

One of my goals this year was to focus on a scripture every week, and every day write a ¨miracle of the day¨ because I believe that there is something good and a miracle in every day. It doesn’t matter how tiring or how hard the day is, there’s always something positive and that’s what I wanted to focus on so I will put some of the experiences that we had this week.

Tuesday: The first time I ate chicken stir fry here in Argentina (My favorite food) haha.

Wednesday: We were able to find a man named Angel, and he received us. We shared the restoration with him and he was really interested in the blessings that we receive for the family.

Thursday: We did a contact and we talked to a lady named Lucia. We shared with her our propósito (purpose) as missionaries, and we shared with here that we don’t believe that it was a coincidence that we knocked on her door. She started to cry and told us that she looked forward to the next visit that we have with her.

Saturday: We had the activity this day and we prepared so much but then it started to rain and we got sad because we knew that not that many people were going to come. We prayed that the rain would stop, and around 6:30 it stopped. We started the activity at 7:30. The people were able to come, and when they got inside it started raining a lot again.

Sunday: We got sad because our investigators didn’t make it to church but in the night we passed by a reference, and they let us pass in their house. We talked to them about the restoration and I know that the spirit was there testifying with us. They were able to listen and we were able to figure out a time to pass by again.

I know that all these things are miracles. I know that God gives us miracles each day, we just have to have the optimism, and more than anything the faith to be able to see these blessings.

I want to share the scripture Alma 11:40.  This week I focused on this scripture and while thinking about it I realized the importance of our Savior and what he did for us. This was all part of the plan and if he hadn’t suffered for us or if he hadn’t come to the earth there would be no chance that we could return to God’s presence. I also thought about how much faith they had, to believe in Jesus even when they didn’t see him. Then I thought, wow, that’s like us. We haven’t seen Jesus, but we have this faith, the same faith through the same gospel in today. And how incredible is it that we can practice this faith with our works. I’m so grateful for what Jesus did for me, and for every one of you guys.

Love you all, I’m always so grateful for the love and support,

This is a picture that we took today in a museum.

This is us moving. We finally moved houses and we are now in our area. Before we had to travel every day to get to our area.

This is my companion looking like a cowboy, haha.

This is part of an activity that we did. It was a treasure hunt with clues.

February 13, 2017

This week was pretty good,

We got invited to dinner with Pablo and Veronica who are our investigators and they are so nice! They were able to make it to the church this Sunday and they said that they liked the church. We were so happy that they came and they always treat us super nice. We have talked a lot about the idea of baptism and I feel like they are slowly accepting it!

We were doing contacts and we found a house with a Batman in it. We asked if we could take a picture and the person was a little surprised and laughed. But she let us take a picture. Her husband is an artist and he made it.

We still are trying to find a lot of people. We find the people but they don’t progress that well. But we know that God is preparing people and it’s just our job to find them.

This week I wanted to share the scripture in Mormon 8:22. It talks about the Eternal Plans that God has, and that the plans will go forth until all his promises are fulfilled. I love this thought because we all have our free agency, but God’s plans are His plans and when He says something is going to happen, when He makes a promise, it doesn’t matter what we do, He is going to keep His side of His promise, and His eternal plans are so grand that we can’t even imagine where He is going with some of His plans. But He knows. He loves us and He just wants the best for us. I hope that makes sense. I feel like my English is really bad sometimes.

That’s about it for this week,

Love you all!

February 6, 2017 Lehi's Dream

February 6, 2017 Lehi's Dream

Hey all!

This week was good!

We just got transfers and I am staying in the area here in Tribuno with Elder Santana. I’m going to be here for about 6 months

We had an activity this Saturday, It was about the dream of Lehi and it went well. It was a great activity to strengthen the ward. We put a string outside that they had to follow with a blindfold, until they got to the tree of life. In the tree of life there was candy. There were people tempting them along the way and also someone like the Spirit to encourage them. They received direction to never let go of the line.

I got too to see some truths of this activity.  When the people started it was very quiet, and they just had to follow the string alone, and I thought that this path is like that at times. Sometimes we feel alone.  The other part was at the end of the path when the people were getting closer to the tree of life.  There were more temptations and almost everything was against them to get to the tree. Our lives are like that sometimes, too. When we are close to doing something good, or to reaching a goal, Satan is always going to be there tempting us and making it harder to reach our goal.

It was amazing to hear the testimonies of the members and what they got out of the activity

I got to hear the testimony of Guillermo Delgado (the last person that got baptized) this Sunday. And that is when I really got to see the fruits of the mission. It made me feel amazing to see the progression of these people and to hear that they are starting to have testimonies to share. I was going to be sad to leave this area.  For some of the families that means a lot to me but I stayed.

That’s about all for this week.

Love you all!

January 30, 2017

The changes are that, now we are focusing on key indicators (numbers) more for the people that are going to be baptized, the people in the church, and the new people that we find. Before we had to record the less actives that we visited and the recent converts, and the contacts. But they have eliminated some of the other numbers so that we focus more on finding people and baptizing. I think it’s good. It´ll help the members realize that the less actives and recent converts need to be visited by the members more than anything. We will still visit them but it won’t be the main focus.
This week was pretty good.

We have been able to find some more new people to teach and we have been really excited about that. This is the wealthiest area that I have been in and sometimes the people want nothing to do with us, but this week we have met a lot of really nice and kind people. I know it’s a blessing. We have been working a lot with people that the missionaries taught before, but we are finding their families or neighbors. We know that God is blessing us for our efforts.
A scripture I would like to share is in Mathew 6:24, It talks about how we can’t serve two gods, and it’s so true nowadays. It talks about how we have to serve God and not the things of the world.   Not having a telephone has made me appreciate more of the other experiences that there are to have. I didn’t realize how something like a phone could be something that we put before God sometimes. I think I understand the old people when they always complain about how the youth of today are just glued to the screens. God’s given us a lot of resources to use for good, and we just have to make sure that we don’t put these things before him.

Love you all so much!

This was the district watching the conference.

This is us in a jungle.  Jaja, mas o menos. We were finding new places in the area and we were so scared a witch was gonna come out and grab us.

And then some pictures from our district.
