May 29, 2017

This week was really fun! We had a ward activity because it was their revolution day here. That’s when we ate humita.

This week we have been working a lot with someone that has a really strong addiction to drugs. It’s been really hard but we were able to make a lot of goals for him and we felt the spirit really strong when we could kneel with him and say a prayer. It sometimes amazes me that the gospel has all the keys to be able to help us with any type of problem and we are the messengers. That fills me with so much happiness that we get to bring this message to the people here.

This week we also were able to have an activity with a family that has been less active. The Dad is going through some problems and was grateful that we could be there to have a little bit of fun. We also watched some Mormon messages.

Not to scare anyone or you guys but after church we were walking and we almost got robbed. Two guys started yelling a little and then he took out a gun and well started to wave it. The first thing I thought was that there is noooo way that I’m going to get robbed right now... I knew I wasn’t going to run and well, haha, I just kept walking and I thought well we can just talk to them. We started talking to them and they told us that it was more of a joke and that they like that we talk about god and they believe in god too. I ended up asking them where they were going with a gun and he just said that they are really caught up in drugs and that they just carry it with him.

Moral of the story is that we are always protected! We hear of someone that gets robbed on the daily, and it’s sad and scary at times, but I can’t tell you guys how much I believe in the protection of our Heavenly Father. Nothing ever happens to us and even when this happened we were able to talk and nothing happened. It’s not a coincidence that we have so much protection. Just know that we are all fine and that we trust in and know that the protection from the heavens is real.

We went to san Javier today and it was freezing but it was really fun! It’s a mountain that overlooks the city and it has a Christ statue

We also found about three new investigators this week that have accepted a baptism date. One of the family members got baptized a while ago and they remember the missionaries

That’s about all,

Love you all

This is a place called San Javier in Tucuman and we went today. It has a Christ statue.

These are pictures from an activity with a food called humita. It’s like a corn soup. Really Yummy!

We did a family home evening with the Salas family. We made a cake! The dad isn’t a member. It was really fun and I think they enjoyed it.

This is a soup that they make a lot here. It’s called locro and it has almost every part of the cow, pig and sometimes chicken. It’s got some weird cuts of meat but it’s really yummy too!

Here are some members of the ward. Both are returned missionaries.

Here is a bag that a family gave me because it said wolf.  Haha

We´re eating fine, but this picture was kind of a joke because we made hot dogs and we were toasting the bread with the heater.  Haha

Hey fam!

This week was good. There wasn’t something too huge that happened.

Turns out that Albert, our golden investigator, had to go to Buenos Aires and doesn’t know if he will return. That was a little sad, buuuut it happens.

We have been filtering through the new people that we have found.  Seeing if they have some potential. We have a lot of hope for the people that we have found.

Pedro is doing really well. He got the priesthood and he is going to be a counselor in the young men. He got to learn more about why we don’t baptize people when they are born.  We explained it to him.  He then came with us to a lesson and just then the lady asked us about this principle and he was able to explain it a little bit to her. We helped him know that things like that happen a lot. When we study and gain knowledge, God helps us to be able to share it.

Other than that, we have been looking for a lot of people that would be willing to listen to us. We have been able to have lessons in other parts of the area. That helps us to feel like we are going to new places and finding out where the chosen people are! haha

Love you all! Have a great week!

Here are some pictures of the tortillas that we eat.

Here is a picture of Louise and his son Pablo. Pablo is our investigator.

It was so fun to talk to you guys! I told Elder told that what we talked about didn't matter to me but just to be able to see you guys and laugh with you all, made it all worth it. I hope you all know how much I love you. :)

Like I said, this week we were able to find a lot of people, and we are going to be working with Albert a lot. I would have sent a picture of the tortillas and facturas but we didn't buy any. I'll make sure to get some pictures!

Love you all!

May 8, 2017

This week, we focused a lot on finding new people. We had some success, and were able to have lessons with some new families. We also worked with some investigators that needed a frank talk.

We have been talking firmly with some people that aren’t progressing and one of the families took it really well. They said they could feel the difference when we stopped passing by their house and, well, they were able to go and get a marriage date, in preparation for their baptisms.

We have done that with a few people: express our purpose and how we can only help them so much.

Another example is of when we started talking about the restoration with a recent convert. We told here that this message is one of the most important messages. Not only for us as members, but really for the world. I think that as members we are extremely blessed to have access to sooo much knowledge. Of course there will be things that maybe we will never know, but with the basic and simple principles of the gospel we are so blessed to have clarity in these things.

We are working with a man named Pablo. He is really willing to get baptized. We talked to him about how he will need to get married and at first he sounded hesitant. We asked if his girlfriend would be ok with it and he told us, “Yeah, she has been wanting to get married for a while but it’s been me that has said no.”  We kind of laughed at the situation, and we were able to teach him why it’s important, and he got excited!

That’s about it for this week, Thank you for everything. I look forward to talking with you guys!

Love you

Elder Wolf!

Here is the church.  This is the steeple, open the doors and well... I think there was people... haha

May 1, 2017

This week was pretty awesome! We saw a lot of little miracles.

We just had transfers and I’m staying in 9 de Julio with Elder Told. I’m pretty happy about that. We get along really well and I need to learn the area a little more.

This week we were walking and we walked by a house and we heard someone say, “Elders!”  And so we stopped to talk to him. Turns out that he is a 60-year-old man and was really inactive. He invited us in and we got to know him. Real awesome guy. Then his son came in and we were able to talk to him and he liked what we taught. We were able to invite him to baptism and he accepted. He and his dad went to church this Sunday. It was a blessing and they really liked church.

We are still working with Tony and his family, but I think they have a lot of things to do for their family and so their progression is a little complicated.

This week I was reading Jesus the Christ and it was talking about when he left for the desert to be tempted after he was baptized. As I read about this part of his journey, I loved the answers that he gave Satan. If I’m not wrong I think it’s in Luke 4. But I’m not too sure. For example one of the temptations that called my attention is when Satan told him that if he was a son of God he could turn the rocks into bread so that he wouldn’t be hungry. In Jesus the Christ, it talks about how Satan used the word “if” to make him doubt. Jesus rapidly replied that man will not only live by bread but also from the words of God. But it made me think of how many times Satan tries to use that same word “if” to make us doubt. We go through many tests and trials here in our lives and sometimes Satan tries to make us think that we might not be sons and daughters of God or that God doesn’t care. I want to remind you all that we are all sons and daughters of God and that we all have a divine potential.

That’s about it for this week. I’m doing good and enjoying the mission! :)

Here is a photo of our district.

A picture of the railroad that is close to our house.

This is a picture of some calzones that a sister gave us for lunch one day! They were bigger than our faces!

These are some pictures that the sister missionaries passed me. One from a P-day where we went to the Burger King here.

The other picture is from when I did exchanges with the leader of the zone, and we ended up helping out the sisters with asking the Elders if they had symptoms of a sickness. It was pretty awkward...haha
