July 31, 2017 A new companion

July 31, 2017

This week was pretty busy.

Monday and Tuesday, I was in a trio with Elder Utai and Elder Stocks who were going to be trainers, too. Then we went to Salta Tuesday night. Got to Salta at about 2 in the morning and then slept a little bit. We woke up, had training with President, and then met our new companions. We dedicated the rest of Wednesday to traveling and we got to the house in Tucuman at about 9 at night Wednesday. Thursday through Sunday went by really fast!! But there were a lot of little miracles.

That same Wednesday, my phone stopped working and well, I lost contact with everyone. Missionaries, the ward and the investigators. Trying to show my new companion around I was a little stressed out without contact, and well, I was trying to figure a lot of things out and trying to have patience.

I could see that God helped the necessary people cross our path when we were out and about. I know that Heavenly Father knew that I was worried about a lot of things but he helped us to find the people we needed to see, in the exact moment, and also to be able to find new people to teach.

As I was trying to be a good example it was hard to face that I was being rejected at every moment sometimes, and although my companion didn’t understand everything, he could see a little bit of how the mission is and receive revelation. He decided to knock a few doors and really when they greeted us, they were some of the nicest people that have interest. I loved seeing the faith and motivation that Elder Andersen had, and it helps me with my faith and strengthens me in the ability to keep on going and trust in that one of us will receive the revelation and the will of the Lord if we are willing and ready to listen.

That was about it for this week, and I’m excited to start another!

We took some picture as a new district.

There was a wall of plaques and one of them was from the church!

July 24, 2017 Transfers

July 24, 2017

Hello Family!

Well this week went by so fast!  Lots of things happened.

We got to have interviews with president, and we got to know him a little better.

We had been preparing Pablo for his baptism, and he was able to be baptized. It’s such a blessing to share life changing, but literally life changing moments with these people.  His father who now is 70 years old, gave the opening prayer, and he almost couldn’t give the prayer because he was crying. It’s such a beautiful thing to see these moments happen and to be a part of them. More of Pablo’s family could be there too and support him.

Today we had transfers and my companion went to another area. I am going to be training, so until the new missionaries come on Wednesday I will be without an official companion. Right now, I am with Elder Stocks from the area Comlenar and Elder Utai from Villa Urquisa, and they are also without an official companion, because they are going to be training also!  In the district there are 3 areas and each area will be training.

I am really excited and I will be here in the area for at least another 3 months.

I’m pretty excited for everything and well we´ll see what happens.

Much love,

Elder Wolf

This week went by quick.

We are preparing Pablo for this week to be baptized. He is excited and has been coming to church with his dad. His dad was the less active member that got baptized in the year 1963. He is an awesome little old guy.
We had a tender moment when we were able to teach a friend of theirs that had come up from Buenos Aires. They were so grateful to see him because supposedly he was already dying. He had suffered with cancer and then he was able to come out of it and the doctors were able to save him. It was a big testimony for them that God exists and that he loves every one of us.

This week Albert came with us to some appointments. And he surprised us all. He was sharing his testimony and also had scriptures to share with the investigators. I did the typical missionary glance and he totally picked up on it and started talking. We loved to see his testimony and he sure fulfilled his mission work duties with us as a member. He was able to receive the priesthood this Sunday.

Other than that we have been good here.

We had our conference and the president is awesome. He is really getting us excited to be able to take advantage of these blessed lands because we are fortunate enough to have the success that we do. And where there is this potential, we can always do a little more and push a little harder. He helped us understand that we are a mission of miracles. We love our new President.

That’s about it though.

I love you all!

This week was pretty good!

We had the confirmation of Alberto. He is so awesome. He wants to serve a mission, and will be coming with us on some visits.

We are also planning a baptism for Pablo. The son of a member less active.

This week I was starting to worry a little bit about finding new people and having lessons because it wasn’t really going how we planned, but I remembered that our success isn’t just measured in the numbers or in what we want, but in doing the Lord’s will. I then had desires to just do what the Lord wanted of us. It’s sometimes scary to just trust and not know what is going to happen but we put it to the test. After a day full of a lot of things, (1. We had a contact that just wanted to fight and Bible-bash with us which was spiritually exhausting 2. A lot of our appointments falling through, and 3. People yelling and cursing at us for no reason), we continued with the hope! We remembered a contact that we had done, and then went to that house. We didn’t find the person we had talked to, but we asked if we could share with the people that were there. We shared the message of the Restoration with a family of 6, and we could feel that the spirit was there testifying. We left the appointment smiling. I know that God hears our prayers, I know that it’s such a test to do exactly what the Lord wants of us. Because of that we have to listen carefully to what he wants us to do. I know that each one of us can receive revelation and that this connection between us and our Heavenly Father, only depends on us and what we are willing to do.

Other than that I’m doing really well.

Love you all!

Hey Family, everything is going well!

This week we had a baptism with Albert, the investigator of gold. But he couldn’t make it to church to be confirmed, so this next week he will be confirmed

We have a lot of investigators but they are not progressing that much and so, liiike always, haha, we are looking for more people to teach. The truth is that Albert was a pure miracle, and it was a privilege to have him as an investigator. Cases like him don’t happen too often.

I’m loving it with my companion. At the end of the day we sometimes make songs because we both like music. We had an instrumental that my companion had and we just put words to it.  I can send you guys the song my comp and I made!  Haha.  He likes to rap and well, I thought of some words to make a chorus. The plan is to think out of the box and go on the radio with it. We met a contact that has a radio and we want to take it to him and introduce ourselves. It’s not that good in actuality but we had fun making it.

(The song is here: Venimos de Lejos (E´Wolf y E´Vasquez) )

Other than that, this week went by pretty fast. Trying to make the best out of every moment.

I had exchanges with Elder Utai this week.  It was, and always is, fun with him.

This is a picture of a kind of pastry here. They’re pretty good. They have dulce de leche.
